Spring In The Valley, Thoughts On Motherhood…

I love the changing of the seasons. Walking daily, seeing the shades of greens and yellows returning to the brown-grey landscape. Tiny bursts of mauve and white escaping from their thick, warm blanket of fall leaves. The Creator, moving his artist’s brush over the woodlands, brings to life little surprises here and there, delighting the eye, stirring the soul.

Tiny details of light and shadows dancing, awaken childhood fairytales in my mind. Spinning fanciful stories of magical beings flitting through the mossy coves. Angel wings drying on the bare branches of the trees. Rooted beings poking up through marshy ground.

Spring, the fresh-clean air invites one to breathe deeply as the morning calm errupts into the musical notes of bird’s song brightly, happily filling the still cool dawn. The spring peeps singing for their mates in the ponds as the day transforms into evening, darkness falls, and the world transforms again.

Anticipation quickening, for what exactly I am not sure?

2023 My eyes shall seek Your glory!

This is what the Lord said, He who made a path through the sea, through the mighty waters. “Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth. Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field will glorify Me, because I supply their needs as I supply Your needs, My people will declare My praise.

Considering gifts for Christmas, why not more of the gifts of the Spirit!

How about it Holy Heavenly Father; could I please have a sleigh full of wisdom?

Thanks for that!

Would it be too much to ask for some knowledge and understanding with that?

Thanks so much.

A little refill of faith sure would be appreciated.

Your generosity amazes me Lord.

I know a few that need healing and miracles Lord, how about the faith to have Your power flow out, to touch and proclaim Your beautiful name.

Thanks Father for listening to me.

Oh yes, I would certainly benefit from some more discernment to tell the spirits apart. That surely would help keep me safer Lord, not to be lead astray.

Now that I think of it Lord, if it’s not tiring to you to hear me, I really need the gift to be able to explain to others in a way they understand. What if sometime you send someone to me Lord from a foreign land?

Praise the Lord, and thank you so!

Prophesy Lord, to be in line with you. A rather scary gift I think, but maybe it should be on my list to.

To be a Cryer on the wall, to turn hearts back to you. I cannot think of a greater gift then to see the world repent and turn to You.

Peace and Love sure would be a pretty wrap, woven through it all and overflowing to the rest.

I know this list is long, and sleighs full is a lot to ask, but I know Father you have great wealth if your people would just ask.

“Give thanks to the Lord! It is right to give Him thanks and praise!”

December 1st, 2021; Rush To The Finish Line!

I awoke this morning with the thought that maybe December should be a month of “inventory ” as apposed to the final push to the finish. I thought maybe a pause to see and remember all of the accomplishments, and count all the items yet to be finished, and an account of what worked and what didn’t go so well.

December can be such a busy month, with all the holiday cheer, decorating, cooking, gathering, fun.

Would a pause now, break the pace? Or would a “water break” give us the energy to finish the year stronger?

Jesus while sitting by a well resting in Samaria, asked a woman for some refreshing water. As the discussion continued He told her that “if she only knew who He was, she would ask Him for a filling of living water”.

I personally think I could use a drink of living water, to finish this 2021 race strong. How about you, do you need a water break?

Self care, pause, rushing through life.

How quickly we can be swallowed fully into life.

We rush around forgetting to breath, forgetting to pray, just going through the motions.

The mind, the heart, the soul needs time to pause, to reflect, to catch up with the body.

In what way will you give yourself permission to pause today? How will you disconnect from life, to listen to hear the desires of the Lord connecting with your soul?

What

Surprising bursts of beautiful colour!

Purple

I have got to admit, although you may already know, I struggled through this summer. Because I struggled, and let my peace slip slowly away, I am tired.

What I have learned though, through this journey in life, is that when you are low, the Lord will send encouragement. Resources to lift you up, and encourage one more step.

Sometimes they seem to show up when it almost feels too late. It might be a brief encounter that flashes some heavenly light, but then leaves you wondering, “did I see that”.

Summer is over, though the beautiful weather lingers on, as a blessing to complete all the chores that have been left undone.

God is still good, His joy renews my strength. I may be tired, but I am not defeated. In His mercy and grace I will push on!

If you feel tired and weary, may my Lord grant you peace and rest, may He renew your strength, and raise you up, may His love fill you and be the energy you thrive upon.

Thankful The Creator Sent Rain!

Clouds of promise

Yesterday was a beautiful hot sunny day, with a picture perfect sky, and not too many mosqitoes.

I was out working in my garden, weeding, watering and replanting my romaine lettuce that had failed to come up.

The reason I believe it had not grown was lack of water. I had been watering everyday but not nearly enough. The unseasonably hot and dry temperatures, and on somedays a steady wind, were not allowing the water to saturate into the ground.

When I started cultivating the surface and watering deeply, the ground sighed with relief. You could actually hear it drinking up the life giving liquid.

My heart could not help traveling to places of drought, where water is more precious than gold. Feeling thankful for our usual abundance, and asking the Lord for a little help to get fresh healthy food for my family and whomever He sends so that I can bless them with the excess.

Early this morning, before I was fully awake, I could hear the sound of a gentle rain tapping on my roof and splattering in my herb garden outside my window. All I could think was thank you Father, for sending a life giving drink, to this desperate earth.

The forecast calls for more rain tonight. We certainly need it. As the ground is turning to dust.

Sometimes my soul requires a little cleansing rain as well. My being becomes stagnant and starts to wilt. It becomes hard to shine and ‘be’ beautiful. (True beauty= kindness, gentleness, self control).

The world we live in seems to try to cultivate thistles. It is very good at growing thistles. It fertilizes with division and hate. It waters with government control and inadequacy. It seeds in destruction, jealousy, isolation and death. It is sometimes difficult to tell the weed from the flower.

Diligence and patience is required. We can’t rush through the watering and weeding process. We can not grow without drinking deeply of what is good, and carefully examining what is taking root, that we are allowing to grow within us.

May the Creator shower you with love and blessings, may He cultivate hope, peace, and joy in each of you.
