What more does one need

A day of rest, a pause, a break, the Father Creator Lord knew what we need the most!

Many Christians believe that it is a day to honour the Father. Everyday is a day to honour and worship the Lord. Sunday (or whichever day you choose as sabbath) is a gift from the Lord who knows we need rest. Mark 2:27

My heart is full of love and Thanksgiving at His marvelous grace!

The journey part 1

The Master’s Painting

The journey is so very long.

The road is twisty and hilly, sheer drop, or rock cut rise up. Perils on every side.

The trees fly by, so fast they meld into a blur of shades of colour.

Pause for a moment on the shores of possibility, and breath deeply of the clean clear misty air. A re-centering of the spirit, the very breath of God filling your lungs. Peace, peace, peace.

Travel on.

The daylight guides the path, late into the night. The sun plays hide and seek with the hills.

Darkness falls. Traveling on.

The flashes in the distance. Unsure if they are of human hand. Far reaching, but from the height of the majestic hill perception can be unclear.

Zig zagging from the heavens, lighting to the ground, no mistaking now. Gasping in awe of the Creator’s mighty power over and over again. Spectacular and frightening! Sit, watch, wait.

The ground drinking deeply of the soaking rain. Needs provided from the heavens above. Rest, rest ,while the work is done.

As the rain slows, the weiry travellers continue onward through the dark.

Hazzards lurk in shadows, ready to make life altering dashes into the travelers paths. On guard and ready, shield of angels ever near. Sharpened focus, diligence, press on.

Finally the sky begins to brighten. The sun begins to play again.

Rising, rising, a new day. One destination, by faith, and perseverance.

The Master says “well done”. An arrival. Rest now weary travellers, your journey has just begun.

Gone fishin’

First fish of the year!

Favourite pass time of the family is shore fishing (we would canoe but someone stole ours).

Last night for fun we went to a little lake not far off. After some sandwiches, then came sqimish giggles from the girls about baiting the hook.

Fred went down the shore a bit with fake bait and came back in short order with the first catch of the year. A real fighter! We soon released him back to the wild.

Practicing for ‘cod’ one day!

Zoa learning of the “best” hole, soon came up with her own catch.

I myself stayed busy baiting Mag’s hook and snapping pics of the flora and fauna.

Lady slipper

Tim showed me this beauty and I discovered a few other wonders.

When I returned to home base I found Stephanie teaching Maggy a new fishing technique.

We now call her “the fish whisperer”.

Can’t hardly wait for the next fish adventure, so they can show me how it’s done!

Making a list, checking it twice

There is something extremely satisfying in checking items off a list.

Making it on the other hand…if I could just slow down a bit, or just do it.

To do lists, grocery lists (often forgotten on the counter), goal lists, birthdays and anniversaries, the list of lists goes on and on.

Today it’s all about the packing and grocery list.

What’s on your list today?

Half way there, already!

Wild red raspberry at home

June 1st, 2021

I remember when I was a child my mom helped out my Great Uncle George and Aunt Beatrice. They had the most beautiful garden, lots of gladiolus plants, nice and neat. Vegetables all in perfectly straight weed free rows.

They also had a massive row of big sweet juicy raspberries. It was always fun to ‘start’ picking them, one for the bucket, one for the belly, one for the bucket, two for the belly, etc, etc.

Always about half way through the task of picking, these berries would get boring and old. I remember whining about “how much longer till we get to the end?”

My mom would always say, ” instead of worrying how much we have left to do, look how far we have come!”

Today, right now, the half way point, it’s time to look how far we have come. What was sweet and juicy? What is not quite on track?

Regroup, refuel, strive for the prize but don’t forget how far we have come!

Lazy day

Maggy’s gooey goodness!

Yesterday we celebrated Tim’s birthday. Lots of love and food and marshmallows. A fun and exciting drive through the narrow roads. Including a bit of an adventure returning the tires of an oncoming vehicle to the road, as he squeezed a little too close to the ditch to let us by.

Today is Sunday. I know that there are things to clean up. Gardens to uncover. Seeds that need planting. But honestly it’s lunchtime and I have not officially gotten out of bed.

I have been working on school work, sending emails, filling in applications, sipping coffee, browsing social media, handing out my unsolicited opinion (oops lol), and writing this blog.

I guess it hasn’t really been a lazy day, as I take another sip of my third cup of cold coffee. I really thought I would get to drink this one hot!

It’s nice to have a day of rest, a gift from the Lord, to slowdown and remember the blessings of the week. To exam what went well, to contemplate where we need to improve, to let our bodies catch up to our minds, and look ahead towards our next week.

Whatever you do today, may the Lord bless you and keep you, and may you take time to count the blessings, mourn the losses, and stratigize the week ahead!

“God created us as an original, but oftentimes we die as a copy, how tragic that is!” Dan Cathy chick-fil-a

I heard this quote early this morning in my business class.

This is “it”, this is the reason for this site! I don’t want to be a copy, I was created to be unique, I am one of a kind!

What would our world look like if we all stepped out and strive to become the original that God created us to be?

What if we ignored the people that discourage us from trying something new?

What if we were our own cheerleaders?

I believe we already know more than we feel “safe” admitting about the life we truly want. The blueprint is within ourselves are we willing to take our blinders off and do the work that is sometimes uncomfortable, take chances and risks?

Are we willing to swim against the current, climb the mountain even when it’s steep, to continue through the desert when we are not sure if we can make it because we are so thirsty for a taste of success?

I am not willing to settle for a “copied” life! I don’t want to fit in!
